Microsoft Windows 11 is not a major update! This version of Windows is just a "window dressing" that looks more like Apple's OSx.

WINDOWS 11 IS HERE

Microsoft Windows 11 has a fluent design that is one of the upgrades major visuals with a new taskbar located in a floating menu bar akin to the Mac OSx Operating system. But, if you want to update your existing computers, especially those that have a few years on them — that’s another story. It's difficult to know whether any given computer will run Windows 11.

The TPM security

With implementation of the TPM (Trusted Platform Module) system in laptops and desktop computers, which is required for installation of Windows 11, This technology is designed to provide hardware-based, security-related functions. A TPM chip is a secure crypto-processor that is designed to carry out cryptographic operations. The chip includes multiple physical security mechanisms to make it tamper-resistant, and malicious software is unable to tamper with the security functions of the TPM.

Can a hacker subvert your TPM cryptography?  Research published last week shows that the answer is a resounding "yes." Not only that, but a hacker who has done her homework needs a surprisingly short stretch of time alone with the machine to carry out the attack. With that, the hacker can gain the ability to write not only to the stolen laptop but to the fortified network it was configured to connect to.

Researchers at the security consultancy Dolos Group, hired to test the security of one client’s network, received a new Lenovo computer preconfigured to use the standard security stack for the organization. They received no test credentials, configuration details, or other information about the machine. An analysis of the BIOS settings, boot operation, and hardware quickly revealed that the security measures in place were going to preclude the usual hacks,

Using this technology according to Microsoft creates a physical layer of security between the network and the client machine it is connected to, which is false due to many indications that using the TPM is only for access via Microsoft into personal and corporate computing systems as a way to search and release information to Federal authoities.

will windows 11 work on my older device?

Microsoft has a PC checker application which is designed to assess your computers devices to check against the authorized devices which can be used with Windows 11.  The same checker which had major problems when users upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 showed that this software is unreliable.  So how do I know if it will run properly? The only way to check if Windows 11 will work without problems is to install the upgrade which is problematic on two levels. First is if there is an issue during installation or daily usage can you revert back to Windows 10? Secondly, will your data be recoved or will you need to reinstall Windows 10 if the Windows 11 installation is botched.  According to sources, this new upgrade will not work on older devices with older CPU modules due to Windows kernel not supporting any processor with 32-bit architechture.

my advice for current windows 10 users

Do not upgrade your computer to the newest version of Windows.  Each version that is created only changes the icing on the cake if you will.
